Touring with Ms. Lauryn Hill and The Fugees

Where the Story Found Me

I never planned on touring with Ms. Lauryn Hill and The Fugees, but life has a way of placing you right where the story needs you. What started as just another opportunity became one of the most defining chapters of my journey both as a creative and as a man from the Bronx.

Music isn’t just sound it’s a movement. And when you’re in the presence of Ms. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel, you feel that movement in your bones.

Lessons from Touring with Ms. Lauryn Hill and The Fugees

Touring with them was more than lights, stages, and sold out crowds. It was discipline. It was culture. It was watching legends work every night like they were still proving themselves.

I stood backstage, camera in hand, soaking up lessons no classroom could ever teach. Watching Lauryn command a stage with nothing but her voice and conviction, and seeing Wyclef turn chaos into harmony through pure energy those moments redefined what creativity meant to me.

Even decades after their groundbreaking album The Score dropped, The Fugees embodied collaboration at its highest level the kind that transforms sound into legacy.

Finding Purpose Through Sound

Standing in those arenas, I realized my path wasn’t about corporate suits or playing small. It was about creating art that lasts visuals that hit the soul and stories that break barriers.

The Fugees gave me that vision without ever knowing it. Every night, I witnessed how music could unite thousands of strangers into one family. That unity reminded me why I picked up a camera in the first place: to tell stories that connect people.

Innovation and Collaboration

Being part of that movement reshaped my entire creative spirit. The late nights, rehearsals, and quiet hallway conversations all planted seeds that still grow in my work today.

Ms. Hill taught me that art isn’t about perfection  it’s about honesty. And The Fugees showed me that when voices come together, they can shake the world.

That same philosophy drives my work at Johnny Rose Films, where innovation and storytelling meet to inspire new generations of creators.
